John Cushman’s family purchased the land for Zaca Mesa in 1973, making it the 3rd winery in Santa Barbara County. Ken Brown was the first winemaker, followed by Daniel Gehrs. In 1978, they planted the first Syrah vines in SB County and the rest, as they say, is history. Kristin Bryden is the current winemaker, continuing the 50-year tradition of producing outstanding Rhone wines that win accolades year in and year out. Kristin will be joining us to discuss Zaca Mesa’s strategy for the next 50 years along with discussing the wines you enjoy paired with the gourmet cuisine from Chelsea’s culinary team. This will be Gourmet Wine Getaways’ first wine dinner at Chelsea. We hope you will be there to discover their excellent food and ambiance (under the stars). All the wines will also be available for ordering at very attractive “Tonight only” prices so you can stock your wine fridge/closet/room with these outstanding wines and share with friends.
