Wilshire Restaurant & Gourmet Wine Getaways
in conjunction with
The Santa Monica Education Foundation
invite you to a special evening featuring the wines of
Margerum Wine Co.
Doug Margerum has been a part of the Santa Barbara County wine and food scene for nearly 40 years. His resume includes co-ownership of Vita Nova Winery with Jim Clendenen/Bob Lundquist and the famous Wine Cask Restaurant in Santa Barbara where he was owner/sommelier. Doug founded Magerum in 2001 with a specific mission in mind: Creating handcrafted wines using only the highest quality grapes and letting the terroir shine through to give them their own personality. He has stayed true to this mission and kept his production small enough to ensure his high standards are always met or exceeded. Tonight we will have the pleasure of tasting four of his outstanding wines (possibly a fifth!) paired with the cuisine of Wilshire’s widely acclaimed Chef Brendan Collins. Gourmet Wine Getaways’ wine expert Peter Kerr will be joined by Doug to discuss the secrets of wine/food pairing & answer any and all wine-related questions.
In support of our dinner partners, each guest is requested to bring a bottle of wine (suggested value $50pp/$100/couple) that will be donated to the Santa Monica Education Foundation’s upcoming Wine Auction Fundraiser. Guests bringing a bottle to donate will be entered into a special drawing for a bottle of Margerum wine.
Join us for a night filled with great food, wine and conversation. Come alone or with friends-just don’t miss it!
