The grit and determination he has employed in his winemaking efforts since 1993\, despite any formal training\, have served him well. The Sinor-La Vallee winery was launched in 1997 with his wife Cheri La Vallee and took a quantum leap in 2013 with the purchase of their very own estate vineyard\, the Bassi Vineyard (above) near Avila Beach. In 2006\, Mike helped found Ancient Peaks Winery in Paso Robles. Today\, he is a partner and Director of Winemaking for the winery. This provides him the opportunity to work with grapes from their estate Margarita Vineyard where\, according to Mike\, “the growing conditions are remarkable!” In 2012 Mike was awarded “Winemaker of the Year” for San Luis Obispo County. Tonight\, we will enjoy wines from both of these great wineries paired with the delicious\, eclectic cuisine of Nomad Eatery.
