SLYD Wines make beautiful music at El Rincon Criollo  wine dinner

Owner/Winemaker Spencer Daley didn’t bring his guitar but his wines stole the show when paired with El Rincon’s great Cuban cuisine.

Best Wine

Most popular wine of the evening was the 2016 “The Show” Syrah.  This  “big dog in the kennel” was a mouthful and yet, was so well balanced, it was smooth on the finish.  No doubt it could last 5-10 years for those with patience.

Wine and Food Pairing highlights

The best pairing of the night was the 2017 SLYD Does Sauvignon Blanc paired with Pina Colada Shrimp.  This was a SB that tasted great on its own but when you paired it with this creative shrimp dish, it took your taste buds to another level.  Many guests who admitted that they don’t normally enjoy SB stated that this was one of the best they had ever had.  Overall, Chef Jason and his culinary team did a fine job pairing these food-friendly wines with their gourmet Cuban cuisine.  We will be back at El Rincon in June, 2020. Hope to see you there!
