The name Lane Tanner is synonymous with Santa Barbara County and great Pinot Noir (along with other varietals as well). She has been making outstanding wine in the region for 30+ years (she started when she was only 5!). As the first female winemaker in the Central Coast, she worked at Firestone Winery, Hitching Post Winery and had her own label from 1989 until just a few years ago. Lumen represents a new partnership for Lane and an opportunity to continue her love of making great wine. According to Lane, “Lumen is an ode to the old-world style of winemaking with grapes picked at phenolic ripeness instead of high sugars, resulting in wines lower in alcohol”.
Tonight, Lane & Lumen owner Will Henry will be on hand to give us the “inside scoop” from Lumen. We’ll enjoy 2 of Lumen’s outstanding Pinot Noirs plus 3 other great wines that reveal the breadth of Lane’s talents. The culinary team at Sam’s has creatively paired each wine with a gourmet food course designed to bring out the best in the wine (and the food). Join us for what is sure to be a night to remember!
