Winemaker Ariki “Rick” Hill took up enology in his native New Zealand 25 years ago.  He founded Labyrinth Winery in 2000 and in ’04, moved to California’s Central Coast to concentrate on the making wines from this amazing wine region. This great boutique winery has focused on making high quality, small batch wines, where production per varietal number no more than 150 cases each!                    Tonight, however, we are in Italy.  When Italians gather with family and friends in one place surrounded by great food and great wine, they don’t have a wine dinner.  They have a Gustazione Sociale or “Social Tasting”.  The 7 wines and 7 gourmet Italian dishes will be enjoyed in an order selected by each guest as they roam the tasting.  The authentic, old-world Tuscan  cuisine of Deluca’s Andrea Francesco(son) & Gabriella Torelli (mom) eagerly awaits these new world, food-friendly wines.  Peter and Rick will be on hand to chat and answer any wine-related questions.  We will be dinning both inside and outside so dress warmly.  But don’t miss this unique and fun wine event that may change the way you enjoy wine forever!

To whet your appetite, here are just a few of the wines and suggested pairings:

Insalta Casa Torelli & 2014 Labyrinth Chardonnay, Presqu’ile Vineyard

Gnocchi al Salmone  & Labyrinth Cuvee Stephanie Pinot Noir, SRH

Polenta alla Griglia con Salsa di funghi &  2014 Labyrinth Tempranillo, Martin Ranch Vineyard, Los Alamos
